Community development firms that issue loans will gain more access to the Enterprise Finance Guarantee (EFG) scheme, the Government has confirmed, as part of a series of measures to encourage micro finance.
Business minister Mark Prisk said more community development finance institutions should access a “little-used” element of the scheme, which exempts community lenders from the usual 2pc point premium charged by the Government for its guarantee.
